Welcome to Oaklawn Animal Hospital
Upon arriving at our clinic you will be greeted by one of our receptionists. They will double check your address and phone information and also confirm your appointment time and reason for your visit. One of our technicians or assistants will escort you to an examination room, and take a brief history from you about how your pet is doing, along with his or her temperature and weight. If your pet is due for any testing (heartworm, bloodwork etc.), they will take your pet to our treatment room to collect those samples. The technician or assistant will then review your pets history with one of our Doctors. The Doctor will then meet you in the exam room to examine your pet and ask/answer any further questions. At that point, the Doctor may make any diagnostic or treatment recommendations or update any vaccinations. If we need any further diagnostics they may be performed at that time or we will escort you back to the reception area to collect any medications and payment.
We request that all pets have an appointment scheduled prior to coming to our hospital. This allows us to have sufficient time with each and every client and patient. If you arrive without an appointment, we will make every attempt to schedule an appointment for you at our earliest opportunity. We recognize that our clients have busy lives and we strive to keep our appointments on time.
New Clients and Morning Admission appointments, Dental and Surgeries
If you are a new client, or admitting your pet for evaluation or a surgical/dental procedure, feel free to complete the appropriate form prior to arriving for your appointment. These are some of our most common forms, if you do not see the one you are looking for, we will provide it to you on the day of your appointment. If you are a current client and would like to update your or your pets information you may do so through pet portals (follow the link at the top of the page).
